Take his commonly used scratch pad or her box of tissue and write a sweet message on the next page or piece of tissue that will be next to pop up. You can do this with bookmarks tucked into books
currently being read, folded inside of the paper bills in a wallet or purse, or any number of other places where your special someone will soon be looking.

-Message On the Ground
Take some branches, spare pieces of wood, or any items out of the garage that would work to spell out "I Love You" in the yard beneath your bedroom window. If it is wintertime, write it in the snow. It will be so much fun to have him/her look out the window to discover your romantic surprise.

-A Balloon Surprise
Write an "I Love You" message on a two pieces of paper and tape one to each side of a helium balloon. Be sure to include his/her name on the message. Also, make sure that the string is long enough for you to be able to get it up to the house, office, or apartment window where it can be seen. Can you imagine your love's delight when the floating message is discovered just outside the window?

-Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall
Both lip stick and dry erase markers work on mirrors, car windshields, and house windows. Use one of these places to leave a love message as a happy surprise for the one you love.

-A Sadie Hawkins Date
The Lil' Abner comic strip featured a "Sadie Hawkins Day" where the ladies invited the men out for a date, made all of the plans, covered all of the costs, and even brought their men candy and flowers. Gals, why not treat your guy to a special date where you do it all. Of course, you could also agree with him that next time, well, he does it all. Fair enough?

-A Lovegg Hunt
Buy a bag of multi-colored plastic eggs and fill them with chocolate candy kisses or anything else that he/she would like. Place a note in each one that says, "I love you" in a different way. Hide them all over the place and let your love enjoy a Lovegg Hunt.

-Message in a Wine Bottle
Save an empty wine bottle so that the next time your sweetheart is taking a bath you can place a love note inside the bottle, cork it, and let it float in the bath tub before they get in to it or the sink before they get out of the shower.

-Face Full of Kisses
Gals, put on the brightest red lipstick you can find and, before he wakes up in the morning, kiss him all over his face. Then, when he gets up, tell him to go look in the mirror to see all of those little kisses.

-Chain of Love
Cut colored paper in strips, write one line of a love note, curve it around so that one end meets the other and tape the two ends together. Write another line of your love note on a second piece of different colored paper and link it to the first one. Continue writing your note until you have as long a chain as possible. What fun!

-Your Own Special Holiday
Agree together that on a certain date every year (not counting your wedding anniversary) you will have your own special holiday. Make up a name for it that is unique to the two of you and decide what traditions you are going to include in it (e.g. gifts, trip, evening out, etc.).

-Room Full of Balloons
Buy a large package of multi-colored balloons. Blow all of them up so that they cover up whichever room in the house you decide to use (suggestion: the bedroom). You might need some help from a friend so that you don't end up with collapsed lungs. There's nothing more festive or fun looking than a room filled with happy bouncing balloons.

-Spare No Expense Night
Take your love out to the fanciest restaurant you can find. If it is a dinner theater or has a piano bar, then all the better. Let him/her feel free to order anything off of the menu and then order dessert afterwards. Of course, it would be even more romantic if you were to reserve that perfect table for two ahead of time by actually going to the restaurant a few days before to make whatever arrangements would be necessary.

-Sofa Snuggling
According to our romance polls, snuggling up on the sofa and watching a movie together is everyone's favorite idea of a sweet, romantic evening. Find out which movie he/she would like to see, rent it, and perhaps you might even order out that night so no one has to fuss with cooking dinner. Of course, a nice foot or back rub while watching the movie always helps, too.

-A Snap Decision
Take your camera with you the next time the two of you go out together. Of course, don't let him/her know that you brought it with you. When your mate is not looking, ask someone to snap a picture of the two of you at just the right moment. Go back and surprise your guy/gal with a really nice kiss while the flash goes off--preserved forever as one more piece of evidence that you really do love each other.

Tell your special someone that you will be fixing a special dinner in for the evening. Dress up in your sexiest outfit. Then, when it's time for the meal to begin, serve peanut butter sandwiches, pretzels, milk. While he/she is looking puzzled, say, "Well, I wasn't really hungry, anyhow. Why don't we just skip all this and have some dessert." You can figure out what to do from there, can't you?
